Why Manus AI Is A Game Changer & Better Than ChatGPT
My AI Journey & Why Manus AI Caught My Eye
Let’s be honest here, as much as this article is about Manus AI, we need to look at why I felt the need to abandon ChatGPT as my go-to AI chatbot.
The AI landscape is like the wild-west at the moment. Everyone has their favourite chatbot and for a long time like many, I was using ChatGPT as part of my daily routine. It was the easy option for quick answers, brainstorming ideas and generally feeling like I had a smart assistant as I work freelance on my own most of the time.
However within a few months it became apparent how limited ChatGPT was in its conversational writing. The over-use of certain keywords and hyphens was a key-giveaway that someone is using it extensively. In a world of SEO and writing for the user instead of Google, that cannot be good.
I’ve noticed a more glaring issue recently with ChatGPT in that is has become very sloppy in its answers. Quite frequently it’ll give me incorrect information. Like earlier this week, telling me that Joe Biden was still President of the USA in June 2025. Come on, OpenAI, you’re better than that (or used to be).
In the last few months I’ve switched models and use a combination of Deepseek and Claude for different tasks, each with their own strengths. I then stumbled upon Manus AI as it was in “invite-only” mode and it has been a game changer since I got access.
Manus isn’t just another chatbot. It’s a whole different beast. It’s the kind of AI that feels like you’re finally working alongside someone intelligent, thinking about issues rather than regurgitating what it can find online. Admittedly it does run through credits faster because of it but the sheer quality of output, the depth of analysis and the way it conducts complex tasks is really impressive. It’s not just about getting answers in my view. I want a superior experience where you can see how it’s analysing your prompts and making the decisions. I’ll break it down for you.
The Brains Behind Manus AI: How It Thinks Differently
One of the first things you notice about Manus is its approach to solving problems. It’s not always instant and it might feel to some like a step backwards from the instant answers you receive from some other LLMS. However that’s a good thing most of the time. It’s processing your prompt. It’s delivering high value informational content as a result. And, that’s because it’s not just pulling a canned response and agreeing with everything you say.
Deep Dive vs Quick Chat: The Research Advantage
This is where Manus ticks most of the boxes for me. You know how sometimes you will ask ChatGPT and it gives you a decent, but weak answer with no depth? Manus goes deeper than this. I’ve seen it take what I thought was a relatively straightforward prompt and instead of spitting out an instant reply, it’ll go into deep-dive mode. It’s like it’s got its own little PC there, sifting through the information, cross-referencing sources and coming back with an impressive multi-page document.
In my world, it’s the same as catching up with someone from the industry, asking them a question and getting a quick 2 minute answer before they have to go and speak to someone else, versus an in depth hour chat one-on-one with a specialist. When you need something comprehensive with reasoning, Manus wins hands-down.
You can see on the example below where I had a query around shipping rules and what was being passed from Shopify to Royal Mail Click & Drop. It shows you the processes that it goes through including:
- Searching the web
- Browsing the page
- Searching more related pages
- Creating a recommendations file
- Adding content to the file
- Recalling knowledge

Could I have gone off and done this myself? Of course I could, but time is money. Why not let Manus do its thing in the background whilst I do some different work for the client and then come back to it once it has generated what it thinks is the right course of action?
Accuracy Matters
My recent experience with ChatGPT and the presidential gaffe it made was just one example. There have been others and I’m sure you’ve found it too where ChatGPT seems to lose track of what you said earlier in the thread or loses focus of the conversion. Additionally some stupid errors creep in. It seems to becoming more generalised and trying to become a jack-of-all trades introducing image editing etc.
Manus seems to have a much higher bar for accuracy. It feels like its internal processes a much more stringent and feels like subjects are researched more before presenting it. This is crucial when you’re using it to help with complex problem solving issues or analysing business results.
Beyond The Chatbot
Rather than feeling like you’ve got a chatbot, Manus feels like you’re working with a colleague. It actively works on prompts to achieve your objective, with a level of automation that is truly impressive.
Getting Things Done
Unlike ChatGPT which focuses on generating text and having an engaging conversion, Manus feels like it’s built for action. It excels at tackling problems, breaking complex issues down into actionable steps, manging workflows, automating processes and providing reasoned advice in decision making.
It’s not just about getting information, but rather about getting things done correctly. Whether it’s drafting emails, scheduling meetings, analysing data, producing reports, Manus minimises the need for constant human intervention, resulting in a lot of time-saved in your working week.
A Memory Like An Elephant
ChatGPT admittedly does have good memory recall from other conversations and can reference your profile information if you choose to fill it in and give it more information about you and your business etc (see image below – text blurred for privacy reasons).

However I’ve noticed that if you have a long, complex thread and dip in and out between the quick model and deeper models, it’s as if it forgets some of the conversation that you had earlier in the thread, sometimes losing the overall aim of the chat.
I’m yet to see this happen with Manus. It seems to have a better memory architecture, resulting in context being retained throughout the entirety of your conversation. I can see how this can be useful across various business sectors such as customer service, in-depth research or making decisions for a project where continuity is crucial. It feels like going into a meeting and not needing a notepad to remember what was said as you can reference it at any point.
Advanced Reasoning
As I touched on earlier, Manus doesn’t react. It strategises when needed. Imagine an AI that can devise a step-by-step marketing campaign strategy and then help you execute it. This is the level of intelligence that Manus displays, in contrast to some of the reactive AI chatbots out there. You can see its thinking processes and documents that it creates throughout an analysis session. You can clearly see every step that Manus is taking during your chat, often seeing it visiting multiple webpages and making notes with which to refer to in a document at the end of the session.
Built For Scalability & Integration
For anyone looking to integrate AI into existing systems, scalability and flexibility are a must. Manus offers a robust API framework for integration with various enterprise software packages, unlike some of its competitors with more limitations around API capabilities. In addition to this, it is designed to handle high volumes of concurrent requests, ensuring good performance under heavy workload. So far it has been very reliable for me.
Recently Manus introduced a feature whereby it integrates directly into Microsoft OneDrive which so many people in the digital industry rely on (see screenshot below).

Continuous Improvement
Manus has a strong community. It benefits from active contributions from developers, researchers and users which help its rapid innovation. Parts of its codebase are open-source which enables collaboration and keeps it at the top of its game. Regular updates based upon user feedback means that Manus constantly listens and evolves its platform to maintain its place as one of the market leaders.
Recently they have introduced a new update which allows for Manus to set scheduled tasks. This lets Manus handle repetitive work without the need for reminders (see screenshot below).

The Cost Of Manus AI: Are Credits Worth It?
The elephant in the room – credits! Yes, it’s a superior platform in my opinion but it does burn through credits quite quickly if you don’t get your prompt correct early on. However if you’ve been using AI for long enough, you know how it works. Feed it as much information as possible, describe your expected outcome and it’ll give you a more accurate result.
At the end of the day you get what you pay for with Manus. It’s not just about saving a few quid here and there. It’s about investing in a tool which feels like a business partner / employee. It can genuinely streamline workflows, enhance productivity and give you reasoned answers to complex problems.
For me, the superior experience is worth it.

My Verdict On The Future Of AI
Whilst ChatGPT and other conversational AI’s have their place in todays world, Manus AI in my perspective marks a significant leap forward for the everyday user. It’s not just a chatbot. It’s a powerful, intelligent agent that prioritises advanced reasoning and enhanced output. It’s ability to conduct deep research, maintain context, plan strategically and adapt sets it apart.
