AI Ecommerce Rescue Service
If you think an AI tool has damaged your ecommerce store, I'll find out exactly what went wrong and fix it. Rankings that dropped after you added a tool, copy that reads oddly, a feed that started throwing errors: these are all recoverable once someone who knows what they're looking at gets under the bonnet. I've spent 15 years running ecommerce and I can usually spot AI damage in minutes.
AI can quietly wreck a store that was working fine
AI tools promise to save you time, and sometimes they do. The trouble is what happens when one is pointed at a live store by someone who can't see what it's changing underneath. Copy gets rewritten in the wrong spelling. Headings get injected in ways Google never reads. Bad data flows into Merchant Centre and puts your Ads account at risk. None of it announces itself. You notice weeks later when the traffic report turns the wrong way. The damage is almost always fixable. The mistake most owners make is piling more changes on top to try to claw it back, which only buries the original cause deeper. The right first move is to stop and diagnose.

Not sure if this is you?
How can you tell if AI has damaged your store?
The quickest test is timing. If your rankings or impressions started sliding around the same date you added an AI tool, and there was no wider Google update to explain it, the tool is your prime suspect. Other tell-tale signs include copy that has switched to American spelling, headings that look different on the page than they do in the source code, and a tool dashboard full of green ticks while your traffic keeps falling.
I’ve put together a full checklist so you can run a first-pass check yourself.
The Rescue Process
Because of my in-depth knowledge working across channels in the past, I am very comfortable managing most aspects of ecommerce including:
Diagnose The Drop
I line up your Search Console data against when the tool went in, and confirm whether AI is the cause or a coincidence.
Identify What Changed
I work out exactly what the tool altered across your copy, headings, structured data and feed, and where it's hurting you.
Reverse The Damage
I undo the specific changes that caused the problem, in the right order, protecting everything that's working.
What My AI Rescue Typically Fixes
The most common issues that ecommerce clients are facing with AI induced issues are:
- Copy rewritten in the wrong spelling or tone for your market
- Headings injected by JavaScript that Google never reads
- Product titles and descriptions that quietly hurt your rankings
- Feed and Merchant Centre errors caused by AI-changed data
- Rankings and impressions that dropped after an AI change
- Changes made with no backup and no record of what happened
- A store you no longer fully understand or trust
I've Run Ecommerce, and I've Lived The Recovery
I'm not against AI. I use it myself every day. What I'm against is letting a tool loose on a store you depend on without understanding what it's doing underneath. I spent 13 years at Aphrodite Clothing, working up to Head of Ecommerce, before Frasers Group acquired the business, and I've since grown a designer menswear retailer's revenue by over 180% in a year. I know what healthy ecommerce data looks like, which is exactly why I can tell when something's off, and I've recovered a site from a botched change myself. This isn't theory.

Frequently Asked Fractional Ecommerce Management Questions
Employing someone to manage your online store is a very considered process, and maybe you have some questions or concerns that I can alleviate here:
How much of the damage can be undone?
Most of it, in my experience, though it depends on what was changed and whether you have backups. Changes applied through an app usually reverse when it’s removed. Changes written into your content, theme or feed need identifying and correcting one by one. The sooner it’s looked at, the cleaner the recovery.
How do you know it was AI and not a Google update?
I check the dates. If your drop lines up with a known Google update, that’s the likely cause and we treat it differently. If it lines up with the day you added an AI tool while the wider results stayed stable, the tool is the prime suspect. The diagnosis rules one out before blaming the other.
How long does a rescue take?
It varies with the extent of the damage. A single bad change can be a day. A series of compounding changes across a large catalogue takes longer. I’ll give you an honest scope after the initial diagnosis rather than a number plucked from the air.
Do I need to stop using the tool completely?
Not always. Plenty of AI tools are useful once they’re set up properly and supervised. Part of the job is working out whether to remove it, reconfigure it, or keep it with tighter controls.

Mark has came on-board and totally revamped our online experience. He has implemented front-end design changes, added new functionality and always keen to add value. More importantly our revenue has massively increased.
